Renzo
Rejected venues wait the longest for re-review; a rejection has to earn another look before the scheduled date.
Renzo issues ezETH against staked and EigenLayer-restaked ETH and also offers separately leveraged Reserve vaults. DefiLlama recorded about $89.2M on 2026-08-14, under our $100M materiality line. Rejected on size: one practice advising 100 households moves $1M to $8M into a venue on the same research, and below $100M TVL that book becomes the exit crush. Restaking and leveraged products require separate underwriting if scale returns; neither changes this class result today.

Mechanism
Users deposit ETH or supported LSTs and receive non-rebasing ezETH, whose exchange value reflects staking and restaking rewards net of fees. Renzo selects node operators and EigenLayer services. Separately, Reserve vaults can borrow and redeposit recursively; those leveraged receipts are not treated as equivalent to unlevered ezETH.
Control and operating evidence
Governance can set collateral caps, whitelist operators and services, and shape risk policy. Renzo publishes audits and a bug bounty; its own FAQ identifies smart-contract and slashing risk and describes an initially concentrated institutional operator set. This memo does not convert published reviews into an incident-free finding.
Exit consequences
Native ezETH redemption uses WithdrawQueue. Renzo documents a three-day buffer delay and total waits commonly around seven days with liquidity or 10–15 days when validator and EigenLayer exits are needed. Instant withdrawal is limited by a buffer and charges a utilization-sensitive fee; secondary sale adds peg and market-depth risk.
Why the class rule decides
The surveyed aggregate remains below $100M. The standing size rule therefore decides before restaking-service, operator, slashing and product-segmentation work. Sustained scale above the floor reopens separate review of ezETH and each leveraged vault rather than approving the Renzo brand as one exposure.

Inherited controls
The verdict above grades the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The least safe layer sets the position’s grade, and the position table names which one that is.
