Rejected venues wait the longest for re-review; a rejection has to earn another look before the scheduled date.

Canto Lending Market is a Compound-v2-derived pooled market deployed only on Canto, with network validators and Canto governance controlling lending proposals through GovShuttle. All receipt tokens, borrows and withdrawals depend on the unapproved Canto chain, so the version-1 rejected-chain dossier is dispositive regardless of the approximately $1.44M supplied and $0.79M borrowed observed on 2026-08-15.

The research file

Mechanism and chain applicability

Canto Lending Market is a Compound-v2-derived pooled lending protocol deployed in Canto’s native Ethermint EVM. Suppliers receive asset-specific cTokens; borrowers pledge collateral, and utilization and liquidation determine access to pool assets. The sole deployed product is inseparable from Canto execution and directly meets the shared v1 rejected-chain dossier.

Current observation and lifecycle

The DefiLlama protocol API read on 2026-08-15 classified Canto Lending as Lending and reported approximately $1.44M supplied and $0.79M borrowed, entirely on Canto. Current Canto user guides still document supply, borrow, repay and withdrawal flows for USDC, USDT, NOTE and USYC. This is an active sole-chain market rather than an archived Compound fork.

Authority, loss and exit applicability

Canto validators govern the lending protocol through network proposals and the custom GovShuttle path into EVM execution. Suppliers depend on cToken contracts, collateral factors, utilization, borrower repayment, liquidations and chain liveness; withdrawals are constrained by available supply and account borrow limits. None of those product controls removes the unapproved Canto settlement dependency.

Why the class rule decides

Every cToken mint, interest accrual, governance action and redemption occurs on Canto. The shared v1 rejected-chain dossier therefore controls before exact-market quality or size. Reopen only if Canto passes adviser chain review or the exact market deploys on an approved chain, then verify contracts, governance, assets, oracles, utilization, liquidations, incidents and proposed-size withdrawal.

The claims above trace to these. Where a number could not be independently verified, the thesis says so.

Inherited controls

The verdict above grades the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The least safe layer sets the position’s grade, and the position table names which one that is.
