VenomStake is the legacy name for Venom liquid staking, but Venom Foundation moved live staking and unstaking into the SparX wallet and says users no longer need VenomStake.com. The underlying stVENOM position remains live: DefiLlama reported about $6.38M on Venom on August 15, 2026. The v1 below-materiality rule therefore still applies to the residual protocol position without pretending the obsolete website is the current venue. Reopen only after sustained $100M scale and confirmation that the supported SparX staking path, contracts, validator controls, and normal exits remain current.

The research file

Applicability and lifecycle

Venom Foundation states that staking and unstaking stVENOM now occur inside SparX and that users no longer need to visit VenomStake.com. This is an interface migration, not evidence that the stVENOM position vanished: the legacy protocol name remains the survey identity while SparX is the current user path.

Current observation and perimeter

The DefiLlama protocol API read on 2026-08-15 continued to classify VenomStake as Liquid Staking on Venom and reported approximately $6.38M TVL. That live residual balance remains far below the shared v1 $100M materiality threshold.

Control and exit applicability

SparX is now the supported wallet interface for staking and unstaking. Venom Foundation reported that new unstaking requests complete in roughly 24 to 60 hours, while older pending requests could take up to 30 days and may be cancelled and recreated. The position still depends on Venom settlement, validator and staking contracts, stVENOM accounting, wallet availability and the operational processing of exits.

Why the shared dossier decides

The v1 below-materiality dossier controls because residual live TVL is approximately $6.38M; the interface migration does not cure capacity. Reopen only after reproducible surveys show at least $100M continuously for 30 days and the current SparX route, staking contracts, validator and upgrade controls, audits and incidents, exchange-rate history, unbonding performance and secondary liquidity are fully reviewed.

The claims above trace to these. Where a number could not be independently verified, the thesis says so.

Inherited controls

The verdict above grades the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The least safe layer sets the position’s grade, and the position table names which one that is.
